Don't come here. Take your $50 to a newer, more modern place. This hotel is awful. Mold on sofa? Ew.

The wifi was quite alright. Location is close to many shopping center, room was large.

Tldr; Go somewhere else newer / more modern, this hotel was nice in the 80s but today not worth the rate you have to pay. --------- We booked the hotel from the airport last minute so we didnt really peruse details or reviews from others, which we regret. We arrived at night and the minute we entered the hotel, seeing the seating at the lobby all dusty, faded, mouldy even. At that point I was seriously thinking to turn back around to find a different hotel. But we were exhausted and thought maybe the room wasnt bad. We booked for 2 nights but we told the staff we want to cancel and just take 1 night. After about 30 minutes of "waiting for manager's approval" he finally let us do it, just as he saw me trying to book another hotel from my tab. Coincidence? No one took us to our room, we had to find the room ourselves. Once we entered the room, it really wasnt as bad as the lobby, but not exactly much better either. The entire hotel, and the room especially, looked far from the photos. This place may have been a great hotel back in the 80s. But at 640k / $50++ a night, you could definitely take your money elsewhere, to a much newer, more modern, cleaner, and better hotels. There are many hotels at around $30-$40 a night that is newer and cleaner than this. Fave hotel for example, is super cheap but modern. Tiny rooms though. The room here was large, which was a plus. However the sofa literally looked like 2000 hookers have spilled bodily liquid on it. I cringed looking at it, and couldnt sit on that god forsaken thing. The bed is meh. At least it had clean sheet. I was tired so I had to sleep on it, having told myself that at least the sheets and blanket were washed and tumbled in hot dryer. Another thing, the blanket also looked like it came from the 80s. VERY ROUGH, already thinned out. Just ugh. The inside of the bathroom is quite modern, but the door was still a door from the 80s and the bottom part was literally rotting.

What would you highlight about Maharani Hotel

It was a pleasant stay I had at Maharani.

I liked the humble staff-very cooperative, front desk open 24/7, spacious room, large bed and very comfortable, bathroom is good-hot/cold shower, convenient to get around the city. There is breakfast and wireless connection, extra space within the room and at the lobby. The fact that Maharani didn't ask for a credit card info (since I don't have a credit card) was another winning point. No hassle, no payment ahead, no cancellation fee (they just ask for a 2-days notice before the actual date. Payment was made upon arrival. Over all, excellent value for money!

The towels are a bit old, would have been great if they change it or use softener...

Good things 1. Room quite big 2. Nice bed 3. Lighting was good in the room Bad things 1. There is only 2pin power socket outlet so if you want to charge your phone you have to buy adapter 2 pin to 3 pin 2. There is water heater jug in the room but no coffee or tea provided 3. Toilet was not clean 3. Shower tap leaking 4. Basin wate missing and water discharge from basin is too noisy
